System for maritime pilot station management
STAPI is a computer system supporting the management of the maritime pilot stations. It supports station in all activities ranging from accepting orders for pilot services, their processing, the assignment of pilots, printing pilot receipts, to the issuing of invoices.
The program consists of three main modules:
- management of pilot queue,
- registration and modification of orders for pilot services,
- management of payments and invoicing.
Easy to use
The STAPI software was created in collaboration with experienced maritime pilot dispatchers and as a result it allows faster and more efficient handling of orders for maritime pilot services. Orders for the maritime pilot service can be registered in four simple steps. Dispatcher must enter only the necessary data, because most of the information is automatically generated by the program. Other operations, such as setting pilot queue, fulfilling receipts and invoicing are supported by automatically generating required data.
All data that has been input into the system are transmitted to the next sub-systems. After entering data during registraon of the pilot order, dispatcher can choose pilot. This results in a change of its position in the pilot queue. When the order is completed, pilot fulfill receipt and all date are transmitted to the financial module in which invoice can be issued.
When the pilot goes to the ship, he receives the pre-filled receipt. As a result, he does not need to spend time typing in data, which have already been input to the system. In addition, the pilot receives detailed information about the order. There are provided such data as information about cargo and harbour master conditions for the ship. Also the number of tugs is provided. Pilots can also preview the current queue of the pilot and the list of orders from any computer connected to the Internet. As a result, they may predict when they go to the ship.
Web based system
The program has been made in web service technology, which means that it is accessed via web browser over a network such as the Internet or an intranet. Through the use of this technology, access to the program STAPI can be made from any computer connected to the network.
There are also no special hardware requirements for client computers. Computer need to be equipped with a modern web browser such as Mozilla Firefox, nothing more. For the smooth performance is required only one powerful computer connected to the network, which will act as a server. However, the cost of such equipment should not exceed the amount of 500€. In contrast, the system software is available for free, because STAPI uses the open source platform.
The control and processing of collected data
The program allows you to generate a large number of predefined reports, such as the statements of the pilot receipts, contractors, pilot working hours, etc. The system also allows easy definition of arbitrary combinations of data stored in the system. Data from reports can be stored in many different types of files, such as a spreadsheet, or PDF files
All the information about the activity of users are stored in the STAPI system. This allows you to easily reproduce the modification history of the orders made by the dispatcher. This may be useful in case of confusion with a contractors. The access privileges to the system are very flexible. This allows sharing system by multiple users at different levels of access. Is is possible to assign the pilot right to modify the orders of the pilot orders from the pilot station and only for the preview queue and orders from any other place.
Easy to extend
With the purchase of the STAPI system, maritime pilot stations received full access to the well documented source code of the program. This means that you are not dependent on us. If you find another IT company that will implement the modification or extension to the system cheaper or faster, you are free to use its services.
In all the maritime pilot stations, in which we implemented the STAPI system, its basic version has been extended by a number of elements, such as online pilot services, tugs discharge, the register of VAT sales, maneuvering opinions etc. Program can also cooperate with existing computer systems od ports, harbourmasters, safety guards etc. It is also possible to integrate system with external programs such as AIS, VTS or Lloyd Register.
